  1. Assalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatu Brother,
your talk was so very informative especially towards the end about disapporving of oneself. Can you provide more information or a further link etc on ways to increase ones approval of themselves?

    • Wa alaykom assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh Sister,

      Jazakillah for your kind words.

The 3 whims constitute our very essence of who we think we are. They are the structure of our ego, so the process of approving for one’s self, whilst purifying one’s self from the 3 whims is a process that requires commitment.

Of course, your request for tips and a practical way forward is excellent and quite befitting of the context 🙂

I will iA be talking more about the process of detaching from dunya and overcoming your lack of control, approval and security on the coming days and weeks iA. You can always check http://www.iPersonalEnrichment.com for more information – that’s the site I’ve set up specifically for this.

      Exercises:
Sit down and note all the things that you don’t like about yourself. Realise that they prompt self disapproval. Realise that this disapproval is making you stuck and not actually helping you overcome the obstacle… and decide to let your lack of self approval go.

When you think about a goal that you’d like to achieve, notice how you feel… and really find out if you’re doing it because you are unhappy about how you are now (ie, disapproving) or whether you are doing it only because you choose to do so.

I hope this helps… and please feel free to ask more questions 🙂
